Artificial Intelligence (AI) is playing a pivotal role in Indonesia’s digital transformation as the country seeks to harness the potential of technology to boost its economy, improve public services, and enhance industrial competitiveness. In 2024, AI is being integrated into key sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, education, and smart cities, offering solutions to long-standing challenges. This paper examines the current state of AI in Indonesia, focusing on its applications, government policies, and the challenges posed by infrastructure limitations, data governance, and ethical considerations. The analysis also explores how Indonesia is positioning itself as a leader in AI adoption within Southeast Asia.
